Course Description:
For 14 years, this intensive three-day course has provided allied health professionals with the knowledge and updated information they need to manage all aspects of pacemakers, ICDs and CRT systems. Led by world renowned cardiologist, author, and educator David L. Hayes, MD, Understanding and Managing Pacemakers, ICDs and CRT for the Allied Professional helps nurses, nurse practitioners, technicians, physicians, physician assistants and fellows understand overall electrophysiology concepts and answer specific questions. Additionally, this program offers the opportunity for “hands-on” use of programming equipment from various device manufacturers.

At the conclusion of this educational activity, you will be able to:
1. Interpret paced electrocardiograms through didactic lectures and workshops of progressive levels of difficulty
2. Provide information on all aspects of programming, troubleshooting and managing pacemakers, ICDs and CRT systems
3. Provide an approach for comprehensive follow-up of the patient with a permanent pacemaker, ICD or CRT
4. Understand the potential effect of EMI on implantable devices
5. Provide an understanding of the basics of congestive heart failure and the role of CRT in management
